I was formerly a fan of Jeff Monson, finding his record impressive and his Kimbo call out somewhat comical. However, I was not aware of his open anarchist viewpoint. He is currently wanted for Capital crimes after spray painting an “Anarchy” sign on the columns of a State building in Washington. Facing a possible 10 years in prison and $20,000 fine, a unfased Monson was quoted saying the following:
“I feel totally justified in what I did,” Monson said. “I just wanted people to know that there’s an illegal war going on right now and we’re four years and running. People are dying. There’s 800,000 Iraqis dead and we don’t seem to realize it.”
Monson was formerly a suspect in the case until he released pictures of the crime to ESPN the magazine. Jeff Monson, who expects the stunt to help the cause, will probably hurt his sponsorship. Perhaps Mike Brown spoke too soon when he yelled, "Jeff Monson, not even in the ESPN magazine." Perhaps Jeff was trying to be a little to much like Kimbo Slice.
