Shogun's Sweet Revenge?

Shogun's talk of smiting his one Pride loss ended with very lackluster justice. An exhausted Rua put away Mark Coleman in the third round, but the pace set by the former Chute Box champ was the epitome of a rabbit race. Once hailed for outstanding cardio, Rua's gas tank had been running on empty for the final two rounds, leaving fans very unsatisfied to say the least. Mixed Martial Arts fans ran wild on popular MMA forums posting thread after thread in regard to Shogun's poor performance. One thread even read, "Will the UFC be keeping Shogun?" As ridiculous of a claim as this sounds, if Mauricio keeps this fitness level in his remaining fights, he will not defeat a soul, much less find himself a top contender. Coleman, who was clearly gassed by the end of the first round, could not even find his corner. He kept his hands nearly to his waist the entire second and third round. As much of a warrior Shogun has proved to be in the past, any other UFC fighter should have finished this fight in the opening minutes. We all hope Shogun will have better days in the bouts to come.
