July Heavyweight Rankings

1. Fedor Emelianenko
In August, when the unwavering Emelianenko takes on #2 heavyweight Josh Barnett, Fedor is looking to take out the third consecutive former UFC Champion. With his large resume and boost in competition, Fedor is a pound for pound despite falling outside Zuffa's grasp.

2. Josh Barnett
With a recent victory over wild dutch knockout artist Gilbert Yvel, he recieves a bit of a step up in competition in his upcoming fight. Barnett will finally take on Fedor Emelianenko on Aug. 1 at Affliction “Trilogy.”

3. Frank Mir
First Lesnar, then Nogueira, then Lesnar again? The former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir looks to wear UFC gold in his upcoming rematch with Brock Lesnar at UFC 100.

4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
Despite his dissapointing loss to Frank Mir, Rodrigo will be back to the octagon fighting long awaited Randy Couture.

5. Brock Lesnar
The next big thing in MMA is now UFC's current champion. Will his upcoming rematch with Frank Mir earn him the legitimacy and respect he has been missing from mixed martial arts fans? Or will Mir overcome?

6. Randy Couture
After a valiant brawl with newly crowned champion Brock Lesnar, Randy is back in action in his long awaited bout against Rodrigo Nogueira.

7. Brett Rogers
With his undefeated 10-0 record and 22 second smashing of Andrei Arlovski, maybe it is not so ridiculous that this heavy handed knockout artist is in the top ten after all.

8. Andrei Arlovski
Although few thought Arlovski would steep so low so quick, his recent number two position was knocked down pretty hard, in 22 seconds as a matter of fact, by a formerly ranked opponent. Who knows what the future holds for this pitbull.

9. Alistair Overeem
"The Demolition Man," who takes his 29-11 career to new limits, will take his first strikeforce title defense will be against Brett Rogers on August 15.

10. Cain Velezquez
Rising star Cain Velezquez earned his 6th career victory at UFC 99 against the frenchman, Cheick Kongo. This marks Cain's 4th consecutive UFC victory.
